Istituto Marangoni Firenze announces an extraordinary collaboration for the academic year 2024/25, welcoming Amina Muaddi, founder and creative director of the eponymous brand Amina Muaddi, as the new Mentor of the school’s fashion programmes.

Amina Muaddi launched her line in 2018 and immediately stood out for her eclectic taste and cosmopolitan femininity. Her heels, entirely made in Italy, are easily recognisable by their pyramidal and sculptural shapes.

The young Jordanian-Rumanian designer has worked as a stylist for magazines such as L'Uomo Vogue and GQ US in New York. Throughout her career has collaborated with renowned designers, including Alexandre Vauthier, with whom she worked on the launch of his first footwear line and continued the collaboration for five years, showcasing her work repeatedly at Paris Couture Week.

A celebrity favourite, Muaddi was hired by Rhianna to design footwear for her Fenty brand, which is part of LVMH and was launched in July 2020. Their creative efforts were honoured with the Collaborator of the Year Award by Footwear News

Her heels have been worn by many other cult stars, including Beyoncé, who wore them on her hugely popular Renaissance Tour. Her shoes also appeared in mainstream series such as Euphoria and HBO's Insecure.

I'm super excited to be a part of this project,” she commented about her role as the new mentor.

I think for me it's a way of nurturing the new generation and making sure that they have role models they can relate to and that can potentially inspire them for their future endeavours. At the same time, I think it's great for people like us because, in our fast-paced design and creative industries, we can sometimes lose the enthusiasm and the spark that young generations bring.

The students will have the opportunity to meet Amina Muaddi for the first time during a talk on October 29th in an innovative location in the heart of Florence.

The teaching project will start next February, with the beginning of the new academic semester.

Amina Muaddi's mentorship presents an extraordinary opportunity for students specialising in fashion design and accessories.
