Applicants interested in applying to Istituto Marangoni are required to meet specific entry requirements that may vary according to the chosen course.

Three-Year Courses

Required application documents for Undergraduate CAA* Courses:

  • High School Certificate and Transcripts (Grade 10,11,12) with an aggregate of 60% and above or its equivalent 
  • Copy of passport and Emirates ID
  • UAE Visa (if applicable)
  • Copy of bank transfer of enrolment fee
  • English Language Certificate: Students who completed their high school education in any international curriculum, where the medium of instruction was English (and not the local curriculum of the Ministry of Education in the United Arab Emirates), are exempt from English language proficiency requirements. Students who completed their high school education in an international curriculum taught in a language other than English must demonstrate English language proficiency by achieving Academic IELTS (5.0 overall band) or TOEFL 500, or its equivalent in any internationally recognized English proficiency test.
  • 6 Creative Ideas - for creative Three-Year courses: they can be anything that visually describes their inspiration and the area of study that applicants have chosen. They can be submitted in the form of sketches, drawings, photographs, mood boards and collages. The 6 creative ideas might also be a mix of these. They can also be a personal reinterpretation of objects, environments, people, situations, etc. or design ideas such as a representation of personal creations such as outfits/fashion collections, objects, furniture pieces, interior spaces, etc. according to the desired course you are applying to. All items must be submitted in A4 or A3 format, in .pdf, .tiff, .jpg, .zip.
  • Aptitude interview once the enrolment fee is paid
  • Moe Equivalency Certificate**

 

* BA degrees in Fashion Design & Accessories; Fashion Communication & Image; Fashion Management Concentration in Fragrances & Cosmetics; Fashion Management Concentration in Digital Communication & Media; Interior Design, Product Design and Visual Design are validated by CAA.

BA degree in Fashion Communication & Image, BA in Fashion Management Concentration in Fragrances & Cosmetics, BA in Fashion Management Concentration in Digital Communication & Media are under validation by CAA.

Students who obtained high school diploma and completed 13 years of schooling are eligible to directly access the Three-Year Courses.

Whereas students who obtained a high school diploma and completed 12 years of schooling are eligible to enter Foundation course in Fashion & Design that will give access to the Three-Year course.

Participants who successfully complete these courses at Istituto Marangoni Dubai will be awarded with a Bachelor of Arts Degree accredited by the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA).

**It must be noted that all CAA applicants to Dubai school (except for locals with UAE Ministry accredited schools or Universities) must apply for the United Arab Emirates Ministry of Education equivalency for their high school certificates and University degrees or transcripts.

Within the end of the first Semester students should indeed submit the Moe Equivalency Certificate issued by the Ministry of Education in the UAE that certifies that the student general education (from abroad) is equivalent to Grade 12 in the UAE.

Intensive Courses

It is envisaged to have a minimum language knowledge equal to Level B1 of CEFR.

Undergraduate Training Courses

  • Piece Of Written Work - for business-related programs: 700-word document where candidates identify one emerging trend. Candidates will need to illustrate the emergence of one key trend in the fashion and/or luxury sector. The research should focus on a contemporary issue/trend related to consumer behaviour - such as digital, sustainability, new textiles. etc. The text should be accompanied by visual research and a list of references and be submitted as a pdf file.
Master Courses
  • Signed Application form: Online Application is available HERE
  • Attested bachelor's certificate earned in a discipline appropriate for the prospective graduate degree*.
  • Attested academic transcript. The minimum accepted Cumulative Grade Point Average is 3.0 on a scale of 4.0 points or European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System grade of "B" or its equivalent.
  • Creative portfolio (only for creative programs): The portfolio must demonstrate the student's creative and technical skills. It should include 10-12 illustrations, photos, and/or slides, along with a brief description of the project development.
  • Curriculum vitae.
  • Payment of the enrolment fee
  • Passport copy.
  • 1 personal photo.
  • Emirates ID (if applicable).
  • UAE Visa (if applicable).
  • English Language Certificate: All applicants are required to provide one of the English proficiency certificates with a minimum score, as shown in the table below:

Conditional Admission to Graduate Programs

  • Students applying to one of the Master's programs offered by Istituto Marangoni Dubai are required to have a bachelor's degree in one of the accepted disciplines. However, students with a bachelor's degree in other disciplines may be conditionally admitted to the Master's program upon successful completion of the pre-master program, which consists of 18 ECTS of remedial courses designed to prepare the student for the Master's program. The pre-master courses are not for credit within the degree program and will not be counted in the CGPA.
  • If the bachelor's degree was completed outside the United Arab Emirates, students may be conditionally admitted for one semester to obtain positive Recognition Report for their bachelor's degree from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the UAE. Failure to obtain the certificate within this period will result in dismissal.
  • The overall GPA in the bachelor's degree should be at least 3.0 on a 4-point scale or its equivalent. However, the following cases may be accepted conditionally:
  • May conditionally admit students to the master program with a recognized Bachelor’s degree and a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale or its established equivalent. Such a student must take a maximum of 18 ECTS credit of courses studied for the graduate program during the period of conditional admission and must achieve a minimum CGPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or its established equivalent, in these nine credits of courses studied for the graduate program or be subject to dismissal.
  • May conditionally admit students to the master program with a recognized Bachelor’s degree and a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale or its established equivalent to a maximum of 18 ECTS graduate-level credit hours as remedial preparation for the graduate program. These remedial courses are not for credit within the degree program. The student must achieve a minimum CGPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or its established equivalent, in these 18 ECTS of remedial courses in order to progress to the graduate program or be subject to dismissal.
  • Students with a recognized Bachelor's degree who have not yet obtained the English proficiency certificate may be conditionally admitted to the Master's program for the first semester. These students must meet the English proficiency requirements outlined in the graduate admission section during the period of conditional admission, or they will be subject to dismissal.
Semester Courses
