Michal Hidas is an Israeli fashion designer with a visceral passion for art and fashion. She graduated in 2015 from Istituto Marangoni Milano, where she attended the Fashion Design course distinguishing herself for her unique talent and dedication to work. In the same year, she ranked first among 40 thousand contestants at the I-SKOOL™ digital fashion contest sponsored by ISKO, one of the largest denim producers in the world. Imaginative, open-minded, and pioneering, Michal has started her own label – HÍDAS, meaning bridge – pivoting on the relationship between people and cultures, and she believes that fashion is a useful tool to express ideas, emotions and ideology. Her biggest inspiration is the world of classic and contemporary art. The brand HÍDAS experiments with materials and shapes, cherishing the values the fashion designer grew up with, as an epitome of style and elegance, successfully raising awareness for issues that she finds attractive or disturbing. She has recently launched the Fall/Winter 2016-2017 Bridging collection, produced in collaboration with an experienced architect from Gaza. This is a capsule collection loaded with emotional and symbolic meaning, where bold colours, precious textiles and original prints talk about the wish for the day they will live in peace together.
