shenzhen · the second school in china
A press conference was held in Shenzhen on December 19th, 2015 to officially announce the next opening of the seventh Istituto Marangoni in the world, foreseen for mid-2016 in the heart of the Chinese metropolis.
Sitting in the southern province of Guangdong, Shenzhen was designated in 1978 as a special economic zone by the Chinese government. A privileged status that has generated over the years a staggering economic and population growth, leading the city to form, along with Hong Kong, Macau and Guangzhou, one of the most dynamic and densely populated areas of the planet, home to the majority of clothing and furniture companies in China.
The brand new Istituto Marangoni Shenzhen will offer a wide range of short, undergraduate, and postgraduate courses, as well as a number of tailor-made business courses dedicated to companies and professionals. Its opening is part of the ambitious programme of international expansion launched by Istituto Marangoni and aimed at creating new schools in the emerging fashion and design capitals of the world. After Shanghai, the opening of a second school in China confirms the great interest of Istituto Marangoni, the School of Fashion, Art and Design, in the Asian region, so full of talented and enthusiastic young people who are – or are set to become – present or future fashion and design stars.
