Istituto Marangoni announces the opening of the Istituto Marangoni Shanghai School, the second opened in town, dedicated to the delivery of an International Fashion Design and Marketing Course, jointly hosted with Shanghai International Fashion Education Center (SIFEC). In response to growing industry demand for profiles with transversal skills in fashion, this undergraduate course aims to provide a solid base in two key disciplines of the fashion industry; namely Fashion Design and Fashion Marketing, giving students the chance to engage in the industry from both a creative and business perspective - the designer and manager. The course is a joint program, with students taking lessons first in Shanghai, and then having the opportunity to progress into Istituto Marangoni in Europe, therefore allowing them to have a truly international training path. The course is in close collaboration with the strong local partner SIFEC, who belongs Shangtex Holding co., one of most important conglomerates in the Chinese textile industry. For this project, SIFEC renovated a whole floor of their building on No.652 Changshou Road in Shanghai. Earlier in June this year, on occasion of the Italy-China Economic Cooperation and Trade Forum held in Rome, Istituto Marangoni and SIFEC officially signed the cooperation agreement at the presence of the Italian and Chinese authorities. With this agreement and now the newly established school, Istituto Marangoni doubled its presence in the city of Shanghai and tripled the one in China where there is also a Training Center in Shenzhen. Together with the Training Centers, the new Shanghai School is dedicated to the international training of young Chinese talents in fashion design and marketing, with the aim of giving them all the needed skills and knowledge for a successful career in the fashion world.
