The reality show “Fashion Star”, has recently landed in China, premiered on Dragon TV in a format adapted for Chinese audiences. The Tv showcombines fashion design, catwalk and auctions. Three fashion design alumni, Ji Cheng, Zhang Chi and Haotian Wen, have taken part in the show this year. In broad outlines, each episode features six celebs busy at work with apparel design and production: designers have 24 hours to mobilise all their resources and set up a T stage show to present their work. In order to ensure high quality contents, top producers rely on a production team of world-class costume designers, set designers, lighting technicians, and so on. Used for the first time in a TV show, open hole 3D technology has made the visual effects of “Fashion Star” very impressive.
