“Carneossa”

Carlotta Popolizio developed a project entitled “Carneossa”, inspired as per the brief by the Venice Biennale 2022. "We are flesh" is the quote by Francis Bacon, the Irish artist whose artistic work is the main inspiration for the whole project. His gory and realistic works perfectly represent the “brutality of facts”.

The project explores the idea of dualism between humans and non-humans. It portrays how humans abandon their external appearance, revealing their inner selves by shedding the first layer of their skin.
