"New Aesthetic" the Mentorship Programme led by Sissy Vian, Creative Fashion Editor of Harper’s Bazaar Italia, has concluded, involving students from the Master’s course in Fashion Styling, Creative Direction & Digital Content from the Milano School of Fashion.

This year, students had the exceptional opportunity to collaborate with Sissy Vian to create unique styling projects, inspired by the themes of the corset, the doll, and mannerism. The mentorship culminated in an extraordinary photoshoot, showcasing the talent and creativity of Alessandro Etna, Theresa Perich Frankovich, and Gwyneth Olympia Sabau. Each of them presented an innovative styling proposal, exploring distinctive concepts and atmospheres.

Alessandro Etna presented "Frozen Charlotte", a project inspired by a 19th-century legend of a young woman who froze to death on her way to a winter palace ball. This story gave rise to porcelain dolls, symbols of a past that blends beauty and fragility. Alessandro’s project explores the relationship between memory and death through a deeply evocative visual reinterpretation.

Theresa Perich Frankovich found inspiration in Constantin Brâncuși’s sculptures and the iconic figure of Stella Tennant for her project "Structure and Subversion". In her project, Theresa explores the contrasts between rigidity and softness, creating a stylistic rebellion that challenges traditional design with a punk-like nature.

Finally, Gwyneth Olympia Sabau developed her project "(In)Animate",  which explores the concept of giving life to inanimate objects. Influenced by the work of Tim Walker and Maison Margiela, Gwyneth combined shapewear and lingerie to evoke the essence of Marilyn Monroe, creating a look that transforms everyday objects into elements of pure fantasy.

The result of these projects was an extraordinary photoshoot that captured the essence of each participant’s stylistic vision. The collaboration with Sissy Vian provided them with a unique opportunity to express and refine their skills, elevating their creativity to new heights with the support of a professional team, including renowned photographer Lucrezia Ganazzoli, make-up artist Cosetta Giorgetti, and hair stylist Angelo Rosa Uliana.

Istituto Marangoni Milano continues to support and celebrate emerging talents in fashion, providing them with the resources and opportunities to excel in a dynamic and ever-evolving industry. Congratulations to Alessandro, Theresa, and Gwyneth for their outstanding work, and special thanks to Sissy Vian for her attentive and dedicated mentorship!
