Let's celebrate International Perfume Day
Istituto Marangoni Paris, renowned for its innovative approach to fashion education, marked International Perfume Day (March 21st) with a sensational conference exploring the profound connection between perfume and fashion. Titled "Perfume & Fashion: Redefining Emotional Boundaries”.
The conference, open to the public, was part of the #ParisPerfumeWeek programming organised by Nez Magazine, further cementing Istituto Marangoni Paris' position as a leader in fashion and fragrance education. Featured esteemed speakers from the fragrance and fashion industries, including Yann Vasnier, senior perfumer at Givaudan; Marianna Villa, creative fragrance director at Givaudan; Sophie Normand, journalist and expert on the history of fragrances and Massimo Casagrande, postgraduate programme leader at Istituto Marangoni Paris.
Throughout the event, speakers emphasised the symbiotic relationship between designers and perfumers, highlighting historical collaborations such as Gabrielle Chanel and Ernest Beaux (N°5), Balmain and Germaine Cellier (Vent Vert), and Thierry Mugler and Olivier Cresp (Angel). They also shed light on contemporary partnerships, such as Yann Vasnier's collaboration with Tom Ford, creating iconic fragrances like Vanille Fatale and Santal Blush.
Attendees had the unique opportunity to experience these fragrances firsthand, guided by their creators. Additionally, they were treated to an exclusive preview of Yann Vasnier's latest creation for Bulgari's Le Gemme collection.
In line with its commitment to innovation and excellence, Istituto Marangoni Paris expanded its offerings last year to include three-year BA courses and a Master's degree in fragrance and cosmetics management. This curriculum prepares future beauty talents for success in the dynamic industry landscape.
