Growing up in Jordan, Romania and Italy, Amina developed an eye for what taste-makers around the world truly want – that perfect blend of effortless glamour, impeccable craftsmanship and fashion-forward style. She found that designing shoes was the perfect expression of her creative vision. She challenged herself to learn the business from the scratch, taking off to the Riviera del Brenta, Italy’s storied shoe-making district. There, she worked with world-class artisans and suppliers to develop each and every one of her shoes’ 40-50 components. She co-founded her first shoe brand, Oscar Tiye in Milan, then moved to Paris, where she collaborated with French couturier Alexandre Vauthier on the launch of his eponymous shoe line which she designs to this day. Today, she’s turned her focus to her greatest project: Amina Muaddi the brand. Designed in Paris, produced in Italy, with an international heart. During the conversation, part of Enhancing The Future project, she talked about how she turned a dream into a job. The source of inspiration for her creations are all the different cultures she comes across, finding the right balance between beauty, comfort and femininity; she also explained the importance of quality over quantity, the importance of each details and of the time needed to produce a product beyond trends. About the pandemic, she went through the strategies her brand implemented to face the crisis, how this situation has impacted on the next collection and to what extent shoe design would change after the quarantine.
