A Glitch of Self: Istituto Marangoni Firenze Art Show
Istituto Marangoni Firenze has come up with a new way of presenting art with "A Glitch of Self", a phygital experience that combines the physical and virtual worlds to create a unique and immersive narrative.
After engaging in a three-year mentorship project with the artist Andy Picci, students delved into the concept of the human mind as a constantly evolving software, analysing slowdowns and glitches.
The exhibition unfolds on three levels: the physical spaces of the school, the digital realm of the Istituto Marangoni Metaverse, and within it, the space created by students guided by Andy Picci on Spatial. Upon entering, visitors can explore a strange yet fascinating environment that emphasises the analogy with software, highlighting the dynamic nature of human identity and its constant evolution.
The Multimedia Arts students who exhibited their works at school and in the Metaverse are Francesco Agazio, Sofie Engelschiøn, Jessica García Corral, Girija Jhalani, Emma Maggiani, Flaminia Mattioli, and Abraham Yael Pérez Mosqueda.
The digital spaces and setups were curated by Arts Curating students Sabrina Morales Echart, Marines Salcedo Gutierrez, and Cosima Jiahui Zhu.
