Yee-haw! Cowboy Core is riding back into the fashion spotlight, and the world of music is saddling up for the ride.

For too long, country music lingered on the sidelines, relegated to niche playlists. However, with the resurgence of fashion trends spearheaded by the latest Louis Vuitton menswear show curated by none other than music heavyweight Pharrell Williams, this quintessentially American music genre is experiencing a revival.

At the forefront of this renaissance stands Beyoncé, considered the godmother of this movement. Her debut country singles, ‘Texas Hold ’Em’ and ‘16 Carriages,’ have garnered widespread acclaim, earning praise even from country music icon Dolly Parton, who openly expresses her hopes for the songs to reach the top of the music charts. The idea of a duet between the voice behind ‘Jolene’ and Mrs. Carter is an exciting possibility for music fans.

Cowboy hats and boots have been the go-to fashion flair for fans at Harry Styles and Taylor Swift concerts, jazzed up with sequins, vibrant hues, and feather boas.

But the rodeo-inspired trend doesn’t stop there. Superstars such as Lil Nas X, Miley Cyrus, and Katy Perry are lassoing into the Western trend both on stage and on set with effortless style.

Of course, the fashion industry has had a significant impact on modern Western wear, influencing everyday styles and silhouettes. Many designers, including Diesel, DSquared2, and notably Louis Vuitton’s Fall-Winter 2024/25 menswear catwalk, have embraced Western themes with enthusiasm. During his sophomore show for the LVMH-owned house this January, Pharrell Williams presented a Western-inspired extravaganza featuring embroidered flared suit pants, chunky belts, cowboy hats, and bolo tie necklaces. The display was a perfect symphony of fashion and sound, capturing the heartbeat of our cultural moment.
