Born in Germany in 1989, Salvo Rizza moved to Sicily, his family's homeland, at the age of 12. He went to the Milan School of Fashion, graduated from the three-year Fashion Design course in 2011 and was immediately called to Paris for an internship at fashion designer Giambattista Valli's maison. From intern to junior designer, he went on to become Gianbattista Valli's first assistant and style office coordinator.

Later, he worked in senior designer positions for Philosophy by Lorenzo Serafini, Pucci and Max Mara. In 2019, he launched his own brand, Des Phemmes, which gained its first awards as a finalist in the Who is On Next 2020 competition organised by AltaRoma & Vogue Italia. Since then, Des Phemmes has achieved considerable success, becoming a highly coveted brand among celebrities and VIPs worldwide and appearing in major magazines including Vogue and Harper's Bazaar. Due to its remarkable success and popularity, the Des Phemmes brand entered into an acquisition agreement with Olmar and Mirta Spa in 2023.
