Laura
Stöckl
Laura Stöckl is an award-winning designer and artist currently based in Amsterdam where she works as Senior Designer for Karl Lagerfeld.
After studying Fashion Design at Istituto Marangoni in London, Laura’s graduate collection immediately draws the attention and is selected to showcase at Graduate Fashion Week during LFW 2013. Here it is nominated for the Fashion Innovation and Womenswear Award. The following year she’s one of the finalists for the Vogue Young Vision Award and her creations appear on the catwalk at Oxford Fashion Week.
Laura quickly begins to collaborate as designer of bags and leather goods, ready-to-wear, print and accessories with important high-end fashion brands, including Louis Vuitton, Matthew Williamson, Diane von Fürstenberg and Liebeskind Berlin, in the most vibrant cities in Europe. Meanwhile, she continues her education at Institut Français de la Mode in Paris where she specialises in Accessory Design.
Laura draws her inspiration from colours and cultures of the multiple cities she’s lived at, including Mexico City. Her approach to fashion and art, which in her universe merge seamlessly into one another, is based on a balance between colour and shape, exploring material and conceptual reconvention. Her artistic influence is drawn from modern and contemporary art with a focus on Western cultural movements.
Laura is a listed Artist at Saatchi Art Gallery since early 2016, selling her one-of-a-kind pieces internationally to galleries and private collectors.
