Rahul Mishra has been appointed as the new Brand Ambassador of Istituto Marangoni Mumbai and Paris. The gifted Indian Fashion Designer, Istituto Marangoni alumnus and a regular guest at Paris Fashion Weeks and India Couture Weeks, is attending the opening ceremony of the new Istituto Marangoni School in Mumbai on July 28^th with a showcase of some of his best outfits. Winner of the International Woolmark Prize 2014, and addressed as “the biggest find in fashion in the past 5 to 8 years” by Vogue’s Fashion Editor Suzy Menkes, Rahul Mishra graduated from Istituto Marangoni Milano in 2007, after attending a master’s course in Fashion Design Womenswear. Since then, he’s been running his eponymous label based on ancient Indian clothing design tradition, weaving stories of people, places and techniques with the aim of engaging, and empowering local artisans, while serving the larger purpose of bringing the fast-growing Indian Fashion Market under the spotlight. As a result, in 2009 he was one of 20 young Indians destined to change the face of India according to India Vision 2020, and GQ has listed him among the ‘50 Most Influential Indians’. As a zealous insider, as well as a great connoisseur of Istituto Marangoni’s practical approach to Fashion and Design and exclusive teaching method, Mishra is now set to represent The Mumbai School of Fashion in his country of origin, making his extensive experience available to promote and support the School in his new position as a Brand Ambassador of the coming-soon campus in India. At the opening ceremony on July 28^th 2017, Mishra will present some outfits from his distinguishing collections, regarded as the finest handwork Made in India for the world; his looks will be featured at the event in which the four Best Students from the IM Graduate Fashion Shows in Milano, Florence, Paris, and London will showcase their capsule collections.
