rado star prize italia 2016 · audience award
The Italian edition of the Rado Star Prize 2016, the international contest organised every year by the Swiss watch industry Rado, invited the students of the Milano School of Design and Milano School of Fashion to create, using a mix of new and traditional materials, wereable accessories characterised by lightness, one of the distinctive features of the high-tech ceramic Rado watches.
After the Jury Prize, awarded to the Master’s course in Product Design student Matteo Agati during the Milano Design Week for his HyperEthereal eyewear collection, the online vote elected "Imperceptible Sinuosity” best project. Imperceptible Sinuosity is a capsule collection of accessories that includes two bracelets and two rings made of nabuck leather and ceramic and is created by Claudio Maria Potenti, student of the second year of the Fashion Design course. Lightness, resistance and dynamism are the main features of the four elements; a in depth study of the relationship between form and material, as well as of that between the body and the space surrounding it.
The Rado Star Prize is part of the activities promoted by the Lengnau (CH) based company to support new emerging designers by showing their work to design professionals and to the public. A commitment fully shared by Istituto Marangoni, which always involves students in significant learning experiences thanks to its established networks with the most important fashion, design and art brands and institutions.
