iDD Reframed, designed by the students of the Milano School of Design Alan Vidal Garcia Cruz, Eric Alexander Batista Perez and Monika Sosnowska, has been selected as the winning project part of the contest Recognizing the district at a glance launched by iDD in collaboration with Istituto Marangoni.
The contest involved interdisciplinary groups of students in the Visual, Product and Interior Design courses who were tasked to present a creative idea capable of making the physical confines and innovative character of the district visible. Over a period of two months, students worked on developing their projects, which were then presented in front of a jury of industry experts, including Mark Anderson, Director of Education at Istituto Marangoni Milano.
The three young designers of iDD Reframed perfectly identified an iconic and repeatable architectural feature that embodies the character of the new Innovation Design District - the area between Porta Nuova and Porta Volta in Milan - a mix of design, art and technology. Inspired by the surroundings, iDD Reframed points to a stylized, contemporary image and will become information points for visitors during Design Week.
The project was selected by the jury after a careful examination of its design and its feasibility. Furthermore, the jury selected two runners up: Energy Connection by Sharon Foglietta and Marco Ripani and iDD Visual Identity by Yuetong Shi.
