4° Cappellini Design Contest · Tales and tables: new technologies for a new conviviality

TEILEN
Istituto Marangoni and Cappellini are set to launch the fourth edition of their contest, this year named “Tales and tables: new technologies for a new conviviality”, international design contest for the creation of a table.
Tales and tables on the one hand is inspired by the concept of conviviality, a special dimension in which people share moments of daily life and social cohesion, in this case around a table, not only to eat together, but also to work or simply communicate. On the other hand the concept of technology is linked, which has now drastically influenced these moments of conviviality, proving to be an element of strong disorder for many people; but looking at this phenomenon from another perspective, we see that technology allows people to share important moments and their lives even with people physically distant, representing a positive aspect of technology.
A jury composed of Teaching executives from the School of Design together with professionals from the Italian and international design industry - including ADI founding member Antonella Andriani; journalist, Icon and Icon Design director Michele Lupi;, Architect, Designer and Art Director of Istituto Marangoni Giulio Cappellini, who is also the Head Judge on this occasion - will evaluate the projects on the basis of their consistency with the theme of the competition, innovation and concept synthesis. The winner will be awarded a scholarship offered by the Cappellini group to participate in the October 2018 intake for the Contemporary Furniture Design Master course held at Istituto Marangoni School of Design in Milano in addition to an exclusive internship opportunity at Cappellini’s.
"We are pleased to launch the fourth edition of the international design contest, and thus provide an opportunity for a young talent to participate in the Contemporary Furniture Design Master Course" said Massimo Zanatta, School Director of the School of Design "a key course for Istituto Marangoni, where the best insights and objects of the future are conceived, always inspired by the Made in Italy ".
