Intelligent Design

Istituto Marangoni presents Intelligent Design, an initiative that celebrates the global vision and vocation for technical and expressive innovation of its Design Schools around the world. The selection brings together some of the best projects realised by the students of the MILAN, LONDRA, DUBAI and MUMBAI sites, offering a vivid glimpse into the variety and evolutionary path of contemporary design.

With an open and linear approach to the use of different creative and design tools, the Intelligent Design selection explores the dialogue between tradition and innovation, craftsmanship methods and cutting-edge technologies, through a series of projects illustrating the different declinations of creative intelligence: from craftsmanship intelligence, which reinterprets traditional knowledge in a contemporary key, to industrial intelligence, which exploits serial production for expressive purposes, up to digital intelligence and its latest incarnation, artificial intelligence, which broaden the field of design to the territories of virtuality and hybridise human creativity with ‘machine’ creativity.

This initiative shows the commitment to a design that is constantly evolving, capable of redefining itself according to cultural, technological and social changes, anticipating impulses and ‘sentiment’ at the moment when these are about to burst forth from the future. Much more than an exhibition of projects, Intelligent Design represents a small but vivid manifesto of the international creativity that characterises the School and its mission to train the designers who will shape their and our future.
