NOME is an alternative smartwatch concept: it is designed to augment the everyday experience thanks to its features and to communicate with the user in a non-intrusive way, using only haptic feedback if necessary and the biometric identification of the user, not requiring therefore a constant attention and visual interaction with the object. Privacy management is the main function of this watch: to date, users' awareness of the use of personal data on the web is still very low and considering that the digital world is increasingly entering our everyday life is urgent that users are placed at the center and pay more attention in this area, instead of delegating decisions that very often are unclear and inductive (such as the terms & conditions of the app or the cookie banner in web browsing). Sustainability is key: the hardware is minimal and futureproof, the battery has an exponentially longer life than any smartwatch and can be easily replaced, which makes the device last over time.
