Costanza Coscia • How Food Makes us Human
Richard Wrangham made the controversial claim that the act of cooking is the primary distinctive feature of humanity, playing a huge part in our evolution as a species. The chef is now the mediator from raw nature to high culture and art, a visionary artist of sorts. Food is made to be more looked at, than just be a survival tool, it has shaped us as human beings just as much as culture, art, music, literature, or other forms of creativity. I hope to highlight the beauty of food and its role in our memories and cultures, and how we keep wasting it despite this. I created a protest campaign against food waste starting from five surrealist posters, to show the importance of food.
