Istituto Marangoni Milano kicks off two new Mentorship Programmes with Riccardo Grassi and Massimo Giorgetti
After the success of the "Discover Your Talent "Mentorship Programme, launched during the past academic year by Gilda Ambrosio • I’M Alumna, Fashion Icon, founder and co-designer of The Attico, supporting as a Mentor the first year students of the 3 areas, the School is ready to inspire students again with two ambitious and exclusive Mentorship Programmes, this time designed for the Fashion Business and Fashion Design Master’s courses at Istituto Marangoni Milano.
The two well-known Milanese fashion professionals who chose to interact with the School’s young talent are Riccardo Grassi and Massimo Giorgetti. Each will share their expertise during the Mentorship programme that will begin at the end of 2021 and continue for the first half of the new year with a series of Masterclasses designed to enrich the students’ learning experience in their area of study.
Riccardo Grassi • CEO of the eponymous showroom, Entrepreneur & Buyer, with over 30 years of experience in buying & merchandising, and pioneering a new showroom concept, will support Fashion Business Master’s students, inviting them to work on four different exclusive projects built around his showroom: from the shopping experience to buying criteria, the analysis of emerging brands and designers, trade fairs and e-commerce, through to the creation of an omnichannel communication strategy.
On the other hand, Massimo Giorgetti • Founder & Creative Director at MSGM, will work alongside Fashion Design Master’s students to create two capsule collections. The first one, which will be developed during the Masterclass series entitled "Genderfluo Fashion", will introduce colour as a theme, while the second one will be related to the Masterclass "Pensavo fosse amore invece era Milano", focusing on the urban theme starting from an analysis of MSGM’s identity and the close link between the city of Milan and the fashion industry.
The first appointment of “Genderfluo Fashion” will be also joined by Francesco Cicconetti • Transgender Activist, who will contribute to the conversation by sharing his own experience and transition.
These two brand new I’M Mentors Projects feed and strengthen the synergy between Istituto Marangoni Milano and the fashion industry, placing a pragmatic, case-oriented approach at the heart of the students’ learning experience and strengthening the School’s position not only as a meeting point between education and the labour market, but also as a privileged observatory on new generations’ vision and language, giving fashion professionals the opportunity to start a dialogue with future fashion talent and to benefit from the point of view of Generation Z.
