Milano Design: a Creative Hub for students

At this year’s MILANO DESIGN WEEK, the Design School presents two physical exhibitions from prominent Alumni and renowned Product Designers, MATTEO AGATI and GUSTAVO MARTINI.
These Exhibitions highlight the dynamic and ever-evolving nature of Istituto Marangoni's creative ecosystem, showcasing the exceptional collaborations between industry professionals and students in continuous training.
This annual Event emphasizes how the School integrates Research, Innovation, and real-world Challenges into its curriculum, continuing to shape the future of design.
The School’s collaborative, open-system approach extends beyond the classroom, reaching into the heart of the city. This year’s research theme, “SEAMLESS SINGULARITIES”, explores the relationship between the artificial and the human, inviting students to envision a future where objects and spaces come alive and seamlessly integrate into daily life. The resulting works blend futuristic thinking with practical design solutions.
The theme was presented by Barbara Toscano (Director of Milano Design School) and Sergio Nava (Milano Design Director of Education) during a Press Breakfast at the school, attended by Giulio Cappellini and industry representatives from Baleri Italia, and Smeg.
As a TALENT INCUBATOR, The Design School fosters the development of emerging designers through ongoing design contests in collaboration with leading Global Companies.
These challenges provide students with the opportunity to engage directly with complex, real-world issues, particularly within the context of Italian manufacturing.

The students are encouraged to experiment with their design ideas, explore diverse materials, and gain invaluable hands-on experience in overcoming production challenges.
Exhibition highlights include Living Analogs by Baleri Italia, a series of designs where objects engage in an interactive dialogue with humans. A cutting-edge collaboration with Lenovo presents a visionary approach to incorporating technology seamlessly into interior design, while Smeg’s reinterpretation of the iconic FAB28 fridge offers a fresh take on a timeless classic, reimagined for the modern Era.
