Louis Vuitton ADGI Second Edition
Louis Vuitton ADGI Second Edition
Istituto Marangoni Firenze is proud to announce its participation in the second edition of the Louis Vuitton Accessories Design Graduates Initiative (LVADGI), a prestigious competition that aims to discover the next generation of luxury accessory designers.
Building on the success of the first edition, where Alumnus Mayur Sonawane stood out among 200 applicants and secured a place among the 15 finalists, earning the opportunity to present his project to the Maison's jury in Paris, the contest returns with a renewed emphasis on creativity, innovation, and sustainability—values that perfectly align with the school’s mission. This year, students from the Fashion Design & Accessories will have the opportunity to engage with a significant creative brief presented by Louis Vuitton, redefining the future of design.
The initiative is open to Master’s students and final-year undergraduate in Fashion Design & Accessories, offering winners a coveted position within one of Louis Vuitton's leather goods and accessories teams in Paris.
Selections will be based on the quality of their projects, technical and creative skills, and their potential for innovation.
For this year's brief, Louis Vuitton proposes two main themes:
The Future of Leather
Students are invited to design a unique bag—soft or structured, for women, men, or unisex—that reflects the essence of the Maison while presenting an innovative vision for the future of leather. Designs must incorporate elements of sustainability, such as recycling or upcycling, and showcase a creative use of Louis Vuitton’s iconic materials.
Unlimited Creativity
This second brief encourages students to explore new categories of accessories, including small leather goods and jewellery, eyewear, hats, or gifting items, reinterpreting Louis Vuitton’s signature styles with a personal and contemporary twist.
The pre-selection phase will take place between February and March 2025, and finalists will present their projects to the Louis Vuitton jury in Paris in April.
Winners will be offered a position within Louis Vuitton's leather goods and accessories teams in Paris, starting in September 2025.
This partnership with Louis Vuitton highlights Istituto Marangoni Firenze’s position as a leader in accessory and leather goods design education, blending traditional craftsmanship with cutting-edge approaches.
Further updates on this extraordinary initiative and the talented creatives shaping the future of design will be shared in the coming months.
