Istituto Marangoni Milano launches a new Mentorship Project With Alessandro Dell'Acqua
Alessandro Dell'Acqua, Founder and Creative Director of N°21, is the Mentor who will guide the Fashion Design postgraduate students at Istituto Marangoni Milano for the project "New Neorealism N°21".
The theme is close to the Italian designer’s heart, who often draws inspiration for his collections from Italian Neorealism, inspired by iconic women of 1960s cinema such as Monica Vitti, muse of Michelangelo Antonioni and lead actress in films such as La Notte and Red Desert. The iconography behind the Fall/Winter 2022/2023 collection presented a few weeks ago during Milan Fashion Week draws heavily on these films.
For Dell'Acqua, the Italian actress represents the quintessential contemporary woman, strong and fragile at the same time, capable of wearing elegant and sophisticated garments but also sporting a more casual look.
Students will have the opportunity to work closely with Alessandro Dell'Acqua and understand his creative vision; they will develop their own idea of a capsule collection starting with the inspirations and advice received from Dell'Acqua, but also trying to incorporate their vision and creativity, providing their point of view on a new kind of Neorealism.
