Istituto Marangoni Milano @ Design Week 2018

From 17th to 22nd April, the Milano Design Week will show again the best Made in Italy furniture and design. Istituto Marangoni will give its special contribution with many special initiatives developed in collaboration with students, alumni and prestigious brands and designers. The International Furniture Fair at Rho Fiera will be the setting of two students’ projects. Teda, Alessio Pozzoli’s creation, is a rechargeable portable table lamp without cables. Lazero is a project about a 100% electric Made in Italy motorbike,  developed by the start-up Amperame. Sara Melucci, Jiayi Wang, Lorianne-Marie Newall, Valeria Scerbinschi, Yuetong Shi, Elisaveta Shvets, Raushaniya Urmanshina, Visual Design students, developed a product communication project and  the personalization of  interchangeables motorbike’s pieces Superstudio Più will host the final projects of 5 students who took part in the competition Rado Star Prize Italia 2018. During the Award Ceremony, scheduled on Monday 16th at 5pm the jury will reward, with a check  and a RADO watch, the student who developed the most innovative project, according to the brief theme “Natural Freedom”. During the event Wood Coating Stories, a scenic installation signed by Ferruccio Laviani, will present the  innovative painting solutions by ILVA elaborated by students Fadi Nasr, Malika Dzhamaldaeva, Maria Camilla Scalfi e Khyati Dubal. On Monday 16th at 4 pm a jury will choose the best project that will become the next ILVA’s communication campaign. Superloft, the ecletic house designed by Giulio Cappellini, will host 4 works of students Gustavo Martini, Matteo Agati, Giulio Masciocchi e Térence Coton. Thanks to mentoring project Prisma Project, they produced some home furnishings using Venice’s precious glass mosaics produced by the ancient furnace Orsoni. Alias Showroom will present five re-interpretation of the space-dividers as the results of collaboration between Andrea Sanguineti, Alias Design Director, and Taco Langius, Istituto Marangoni’s teacher together with students Aakriti Khurana, Ana Ester Sanjur, Malika Dzhamaldaeva, Nuria Diaz, Stephanie Andrade. The Milano School of Design will host a new project in collaboration with Sharebot, the italian company leader in the production of 3D printers. Thanks to a new software produced by Kleemotion, the visitors’ heartbeat will take shape into  a very personal and unique 3D printing. In addition to this, Istituto Marangoni was actively involved in a workshop, part of “Onlife. Millennials at Home” project promoted by Elle Decor Italia. The magazine focused on 4 generational clusters to find out their ideas about the concept of home, their needs and aspirations, their relationship with technology and design. Students’ digital projects will be exhibited  from 16 th to 29th  April at Palazzo Bovara. During the Milano Design Week, Istituto Marangoni will be also involved in some of the most important talks, such as the “Icon Design Talks” ( 18th  April – 4pm at Microsoft House) and, in the prestigious location Robertaebasta, will take place a panel discussion organized by the lifestyle magazine F with Giulio Cappellini and Alumna Costanza Salvà about the theme “Progettare e vivere di Design” (21st April – 2pm).
