ISTITUTO MARANGONI MILANO: A NEW HOME FOR CREATIVITY

Starting in September 2025, Istituto Marangoni Milano will embark on a new chapter in its history by relocating to the stunning Palazzo Turati. This location embodies the elegance of the past while embracing a vision for the future, which makes it a fitting symbol to celebrate the Institute’s 90th anniversary and its pioneering role in creative education.
Situated in the heart of Milan, between the Duomo, Castello Sforzesco, and the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana, this neo-Renaissance architectural gem was built between 1873 and 1876 for Count Francesco Turati, a visionary entrepreneur in the cotton industry. Designed by architect Enrico Combi, the building spans five floors and over 9,000 square metres. It features a spectacular terrace that offers breathtaking views of the city skyline, showcasing everything from the spires of the Duomo to the modern profiles of Porta Nuova.
Stepping into Palazzo Turati immerses you in an atmosphere filled with history and beauty. Beyond the diamond-point rusticated façade, students will walk through the evocative central courtyard, surrounded by granite columns, before ascending the majestic staircase that leads to the noble halls. Here, refined frescoes, intricate sculptural details, opulent fabrics, and exquisite wooden floors create the perfect backdrop for their ideas, transforming every corner into a stage for inspiration.

Each space showcases a unique artistic heritage that is poised to nurture the talent of future generations. This includes the Sala della Musica, adorned with frescoes inspired by Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony; the Sala di Prometeo, a historic library designed by Lodovico Pogliaghi, featuring a grand neo-Renaissance fireplace and sculptures that celebrate the myth of Prometheus; and the Salotto Azzurro, draped in velvet and embellished with grotesque-painted silks.
However, Palazzo Turati aims to be more than just a sanctuary of history and prestige; it is primarily envisioned as a laboratory of innovation, guiding students towards the future of luxury and creativity. The campus will feature spacious, light-filled classrooms for drawing and pattern-making, laboratories equipped with advanced technologies, IT suites with the latest software, and fully-equipped photography studios—all designed to encourage experimentation and innovation.
By blending tradition and modernity, the campus is set to welcome students from over 100 countries, immersing them in Italy’s rich cultural heritage while propelling them toward the new frontiers of fashion, design, and art.
Welcome to the future of creativity. Welcome to the new home of Istituto Marangoni Milano.
