Grand Finale for the Mentorship Project with Rocco Iannone, Creative Director of Ferrari & IM Alumnus

The “Future Heritage” Mentorship Programme, led by Rocco Iannone, Creative Director of Ferrari and Alumnus of Istituto Marangoni Milano, has come to an end. This initiative actively involved Master's students in Fashion Design and Fashion Design & Innovation, offering them a unique opportunity to engage with one of Italy’s top fashion industry figures.
THE PROJECT
The “Future Heritage” project challenged students to reinterpret Ferrari’s legacy through a contemporary lens, blending the brand’s iconic heritage with forward-thinking innovation. The students worked on collections that explored the dialogue between tradition and modernity, focusing on key values such as the balance between form and function, innovation and craftsmanship, as well as the harmony of lines, volumes, and curves. Additionally, the young designers were tasked with using Q-cycle®, an innovative fabric patented by Ferrari, which is made from reclaimed end-of-life tyres that would otherwise become waste. The goal was to create pieces that were not only visually striking but also embodied Ferrari’s ethos of excellence, aesthetics, and craftsmanship.

As a mentor, Rocco Iannone shared his vision and industry experience with the students, stressing the importance of emotion in design and its impact on customer connection. He highlighted how fashion transcends aesthetics; it embodies a deep connection and an experience that goes beyond mere design.
Students expressed their enthusiasm at the chance to work closely with a professional of Iannone’s calibre, recognising that this experience enriched their educational journey and broadened their perspectives in the fashion world.
This project showcases once again Istituto Marangoni Milano’s commitment to providing its students with high-quality educational experiences by partnering with leading industry figures, all aimed at shaping the fashion professionals of the future.
