For the 102nd Pitti Immagine Uomo trade show, Istituto Marangoni Firenze celebrates the works of the Best Multimedia Artists and the Best Fashion Designer of the year with a one-off event on June 15 at the Marino Marini Museum in Florence.

This new Fashion & Art Show format highlights one of the features that make the Florence School unique: the synergy of Art and Fashion, offering students a new vision of two worlds that merge and express themselves in one alone.

‘Everywhere, here, nowhere’ will take place on June 15 at 9:30 pm and will be a journey into a non-place, where real world and digital technologies come together in a continuous dialogue.

The basement of the Marino Marini Museum will be the centrepiece of the Art Show, displaying video installations and augmented reality artwork by Multimedia Arts students. In this immersive itinerary, light – an essential and distinguishing element of the museum – is cancelled out to make room for abstraction and enveloping sounds.

The ground floor will host the Fashion Show among the museum’s sculptures, with creations by the best Fashion Design students selected by an international jury. The collections will come alive within an all-encompassing digital experience generated by artificial intelligence: flowers, natural elements, landscapes and abstract images will give life to places that exist only where reality and digital perspective meet. Familiar places, reminiscent of reality but non-existent in the physical world, are suspended in a place with blurred borders where art and fashion coexist in a flourishing, timeless union.

The journey to discover the Fashion & Art School projects is completed with the presentation of the RE: MIXING THE CITY (might delete later) project. Led by Digital Artist and I’M Mentor Andy Picci, Multimedia Arts students have developed a large-scale project covering Florence’s historic centre and seven iconic locations evoking the city’s rich fashion history. These include Palazzo Vecchio, the Church of Orsanmichele and the Santa Maria Novella station. Local landmarks become the background of digital artworks and will be enhanced and made visible through augmented reality Instagram filters. A map to visit the locations selected for the project will also be available on I’M Firenze Digest, the digital magazine of Istituto Marangoni Firenze.

You can follow the Fashion & Art Show through a live stream at 9:30 pm (CET) on June 15 on the school’s social media:
