On Wednesday, 11th December, IML had the distinct honour of hosting an enlightening talk by the Cultural Team from the Italian Embassy. The event, titled Design Spaziale Italiano: Showcasing the Uniqueness of Italian Design as a Bridge Between Science, Technology, and Beauty, explored how Italian design principles are shaping the future of space exploration.
Renowned architects and designers Annalisa Dominoni and Benedetto Quaquaro, leaders in this groundbreaking field, shared their innovative work conducted at the Politecnico di Milano's School of Design.
Their research delves into how Italy’s celebrated legacy of beauty, artistry, and functionality can redefine human experiences in outer space. From reimagining interplanetary spaceships and space habitats to developing cutting-edge 3D-printed space food and technology-integrated fashion, their work harmonises scientific innovation with timeless Italian elegance.
