Creative partnership with the Design Museum of London
Istituto Marangoni London is embarking on a creative partnership with the Design Museum of London, a renowned hub for contemporary design enthusiasts.
The Design Museum is globally recognised as the leading institution dedicated to contemporary architecture and design, and this partnership represents a convergence of diverse design disciplines, including architecture, fashion, graphics, product, and industrial design, all housed within the Design Museum's innovative space.
Istituto Marangoni London eagerly embraces this collaboration, driven by shared values of collaboration, inclusivity, innovation, and forward-thinking. The institution aims to engage in a vibrant dialogue, fostering inspiration and innovation while nurturing its students, who are poised to shape the future of design.
Starting from October 2023, this partnership grants Istituto Marangoni students and staff free access to all exhibitions at the Design Museum. This opportunity allows individuals to immerse themselves in the future of design, offering a unique chance to explore upcoming exhibitions.
Furthermore, 2023-2024 Design Graduates will have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to showcase their projects in the Kensington-based Museum. A dream for any aspiring designer!
One notable exhibition within this collaboration is "REBEL: 30 Years of London Fashion" (16th September 16 2023 · 11th February 2024). Sponsored by Alexander McQueen, this exhibition is a significant event for London fashion enthusiasts, aspiring designers, and Istituto Marangoni students. It's hailed as the most extensive survey of contemporary British fashion culture ever held in the UK, examining the fashion career opportunities that London has provided over the past three decades.
The Design Museum collaborates with the British Fashion Council (BFC) for this exhibition, celebrating the BFC's 30th anniversary of the NEWGEN program that has been supporting the new generation of fashion designers worldwide since 1993. The exhibition showcases the stories of over 300 young designers who have been fearless, transformative, exuberant, rebellious, and radical, shaping the fashion landscape.
London, as the fashion capital, serves as the backdrop, inspiring generations of designers and holding international appeal as a potent talent incubator.
This partnership between Istituto Marangoni London and the Design Museum promises to be a platform where creativity and innovation flourish, offering unprecedented opportunities to explore and shape the future of design.
