NO CODE GENERATION CONTEST
Istituto Marangoni and Cappellini join forces for the 5th year to launch No Code Generation - the international design contest, sponsored by ADI, that offers up for grab a full scholarship to participate in the October 2019 intake of Product & Furniture Design Master’s course at the Milano School of Design, as well as an exclusive internship opportunity at Cappellini’s.
The contest, powered by internationally renowned Italian design firm Cappellini, known for tapping new trends and far-flung talents, calls for applicants to submit their projects for one multifunctional piece of furniture or a series of pieces of furniture that can be mixable with each other. The furniture should be designed for the living and the sleeping areas.
Inspired by the new generations, No Code Generation acknowledges the fluid scenario the youngsters have grown up in and looks at the way they explore the variety of places, locations, experiences as well as visual languages, thanks to a relationship with the surroundings which is technology bound. They enjoy moving fluently through the world’s art and design capitals, from Miami to Shanghai, from London to Mumbai, and enjoy different cultural proposals creatively. Their experience is codified and not bound by any given code.
The projects will be evaluated based on their consistency with the theme of the competition, innovation and concept synthesis by a jury composed of the School of Design Teaching executives, together with professionals from the Italian and international design industry - including the architect Luciano Galimberti (ADI President) and the Architect, Designer and Art Director of Istituto Marangoni Giulio Cappellini, who is also the Head Judge on this occasion.
The call is open to graduates of degree courses in product and industrial design or architecture already holding a bachelor degree (3 years) or about to graduate by October 2019 or to professionals with relevant experience in the field.
