Sanremo 2025: The viral fashion moments shaping Italy’s music festival

The 75th edition of the Festival di Sanremo is just around the corner, and as Italy gears up for its most iconic music competition, fashion lovers are equally eager to witness a parallel spectacle: the grand showcase of style. Once primarily a celebration of Italian music, Sanremo has now evolved into a full-fledged fashion momentum, where the “who wears what” game is almost as thrilling as the performances themselves. With top-tier stylists orchestrating every outfit choice, the stage at the Ariston Theatre is no longer just about melodies—it’s a catwalk in its own right. So, let’s dive into the heart of Sanremo Fashion Week.

The Celebrity Stylist Takeover: Crafting a Vision Behind Every Performer Look

Before the spotlight even hits the stage, an unseen battle unfolds—one fought with fabrics, sequins, and daring silhouettes. Every artist’s look is a carefully curated extension of their musical identity, shaped by some of the most sought-after image consultants in the industry. This year, the competition for the title of “best dressed” is fiercer than ever, with celebrity stylists leaving no detail to chance.

Among the big names returning to Sanremo’s fashion battleground is Nick Cerioni, the mastermind behind the aesthetics of Achille Lauro, Brunori Sas, and Jovanotti. Known for his boundary-pushing, theatrical approach to styling, Cerioni promises to deliver jaw-dropping looks that will keep fashion critics on their toes.

This year’s lineup at Sanremo is more eclectic than ever, with diverse fashion choices. Rebecca Baglini, a regular at the festival, is embracing this varied landscape by dressing both rap royalty and classic TV icons. She’s in charge of styling Shablo, Guè, Joshua, Tormento, Neffa, and Alessandro Cattelan. “Cattelan’s look will embody Italian sartorial tradition, while the rap scene will bring urban influences to the Ariston stage,” explained Baglini, proving that fashion at Sanremo goes beyond glamour; it tells a story.

Meanwhile, Simone Furlan (aka Sifu), another stylist deeply embedded in the culture of Italy’s biggest music festival, is set to transform Sarah Toscano, the youngest contestant of the edition. “Her look will be playful and vibrant, mirroring both her personality and the themes of her song,” Furlan shared, promising a refreshing take on youthful fashion.

Michele Potenza, making his official Sanremo debut, is responsible for shaping the aesthetics of Bresh, Rocco Hunt, and Damiano David of Måneskin. “Bresh’s style leans toward a chic French aesthetic, Rocco’s is an urban-sophisticated mix, and for Damiano, expect an Italian brand that nods to his rock roots,” Potenza teased.

The Coma Cose, styled by Tiny Idols (aka Silvia Ortombina) with Pablo Patané, were seen in Valentino creations designed by Alessandro Michele. Achille Lauro opted for Dolce&Gabbana, Joan Thiele wore Chanel, Rose Villain chose Fendi, and Francesca Michielin went for Prada. Naturally, Giorgia remained loyal to Dior, while Bresh chose Ami Paris and Irama wore Balmain.

While many brands remain tight-lipped, these appearances only add to the growing buzz in the industry, hinting at some stunning collaborations in the days ahead. Achille Lauro is expected to wow in Dolce&Gabbana, bringing his signature boldness to the stage. Giorgia will continue to dazzle in Dior, embracing timeless elegance with a contemporary twist. Irama is likely to maintain his edgy elegance in Balmain, merging sharp tailoring with a rebellious spirit. Joan Thiele is rumoured to wear Chanel at her next appearances, embodying effortless chic and Parisian flair. Meanwhile, co-host Geppi Cucciari will radiate Italian sophistication in Antonio Marras, celebrating craftsmanship and artistic expression.
