From AI to Handcrafted

The exhibition with Lenovo and Rivatelier for MIlano Design Week 2025

Students from the Product Design bachelor degree at Istituto Marangoni Milano Design, in collaboration with Lenovo and Rivatelier.

Lenovo, Rivatelier and Istituto Marangoni Milano Design explore new synergies between technology, design and craftsmanship.

The students developed furniture complements using Lenovo devices and AI tools, translating digital innovation into concrete design solutions.

These furnishings, subsequently handcrafted by Rivatelier, are designed to accommodate and integrate technological devices into living environments, creating a harmonious connection between function, aesthetics and interaction.

The finalist projects emerging in the Lenovo-Rivatelier contest, designed for students in the three-year bachelor’s degree course in Product Design, were:

  • INCLINA by AIGIN JUHLS
A piece of furniture that explores the balance between movement and stability, dynamically adapting to spaces.
  • OTTO by ARTIS KRISTIANS ABIKIS
A modular element that reinterprets the concept of a technological container through an essential and functional form.
  • PEBBLE by CAMILLE FERREIRA
An object with organic lines that fuses natural materials and technology for a fluid and harmonious user experience.

The result is a collection of objects in which artificial intelligence and design sensitivity come together to redefine contemporary spaces, demonstrating how design can be the bridge between digital innovation and traditional craftsmanship.

The project will be presented at Design Week 2025 at the School, offering visitors a new perspective on the future of technological furniture.

When: 8-13 April 2025

Where: IM Milan | Design ROOM 101
