Introduction to Portfolio
This short course introduces participants to some of the key sketching and digital design skills to prepare for a BA of fashion design as well as to apply for portfolio schools.
SHANGHAI
With a special focus on requirements analysis and contemporary academic needs, participants are prepared to present a standard portfolio for applying to a BA of fashion design. They are introduced to some of the most important notions of sketching and drawing, as well as digital design skills for visual communication and representation. At the end of this course, students will have designed and output a complete identity and style research and portfolio.
Week 1
Participants research and practice different style of visual presentation and start to sketch basic body silhouettes of both women and men. They also investigate handmade drawing techniques and body anatomy, as well as reasearch on poses and expressions.
Week 2
Students apply mixed handmade and digital media to render fashion illustrations and represent sketches of mixed-and-matched looks. They design their personal visual identity and start to research the most appropriate form of graphic presentation.
Week 2
Students practice some basic draping skills to reproduce a stylish calico and express their hardware skills with the support of a graphic representation. They complete their portfolio and present their final layout to Tutors. They are coached also in basic form of self-writing in form of a short abstract.
