After earning a degree in business administration, Selma Çilek leaves Turkey to pursue her passion for fashion, arriving in Milan where she attends Visual Merchandising and Fashion Design courses at Istituto Marangoni. After graduation, she enrols to the Master in Fashion Design. In 2017 Selma makes her debut in the fashion world as a designer, presenting her first spring/summer pret-a-porter collection at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Istanbul; it is precisely on this occasion that the young Turkish designer gains interest at home. The same collection is then presented at the Bakü Fashion Week, receiving further approval, which allows it to land at one of the most important Fashion Weeks in the world - the Paris one - with the 2017 fall/winter collection at the Hotel d'Evreux, in Place Vendome, and sees the participation of world-famous guests. In the wake of international success, Salma Çilek opens her SELMACILEK atelier and boutique in Bebek, one of Istanbul's most vibrant and famous neighbourhoods, giving life to the eponymous brand. Her creations are simple, elegant and classy, ​​with small details that make each piece unique. Her goal is to seek quality, embodying a youthful spirit, with the integrity that distinguishes the eye of the designer. Çilek uses refined and feminine shapes, combining different styles, creating unique garments, for modern women, who want to stand out in everyday life, playing with their wardrobe. SalmaCilek is sold in the most important international stores, such as Harvey Nichols, Bloomingdales and Galeries Lafayette in Turkey. Style and elegance have impressed many celebrities all over the world: SELMACILEK was in fact chosen by singer Dua Lipa, actress Kate Hudson, author Eva Chen, Italian entrepreneur and influencer Chiara Ferragni and many other stars.
