Ilse
Jara
Born in Paraguay in 1990, Ilse Jara studies Fashion Design at Universidad Americana of Asunción in her own country and, soon after, moves to Milan to develop her designer’s skills further. Here, she enrols in the Fashion Design & Production Management master at Istituto Marangoni, where she graduates in 2012.
Interested in exploring the possibility of merging technological innovations and a modern aesthetic with natural materials and traditional techniques, Ilse launches her eponymous brand in 2010. Ever since she’s been taking part in all the major fashion events in Paraguay.
Her work and creativity did not pass unnoticed; after graduating from Istituto Marangoni in London, Ilse receives a Mention of Honor at the IFS in the British capital in 2014. In 2016 she is selected as Best Designer of the Year at La Aguja Fashion Awards in Asunción.
As a responsible and modern designer, Ilse is particularly dedicated to sustainable fashion and to the idea that sustainability also matters in terms of how a given piece stands the test of time. She believes that achieving a balance between forward-looking technology and materials that are at peace with nature, is a key to achieving sustainability.
