In spite of a very different background, both cultural and academic,
Darin Hachem and
Fernanda Gallardo have come together to pursue a common goal: bridge divides between East and West in the name of Sustainable Fashion.
After graduating, respectively, in
Fine Arts in
Lebanon and
Design in
Mexico, these two resourceful talents met for the first time in
Milano, where they completed the same 1-year intensive course in 2014, followed by an
MA degree in Fashion Design Womenswear at
Istituto Marangoni, in 2015.
With such a rich and open view of the world, shared interests and common goals, the insightful friendship of the two fashion designers soon evolved into a winning partnership named “
DARIN HACHEM” – luxury prêt-à-porter womenswear brand committed to forging a new concept of ‘belongingness’ by blurring geographical barriers and mixing cultural influences, with due regard for the environment, but also Human and Labour rights.
Based in Milan, the brand represents a multicultural Middle Eastern statement with traits and shapes of both Lebanon and Mexico and a conscious approach to sustainable manufacturing in modern fashion systems. Cosmopolitan, yet rooted in tradition,
DARIN HACHEM dresses women willing to wear timeless pieces and in love with the luxurious appeal of ‘quality over quantity’, thus allowing a consistent reduction of the environmental impact of fashion.
“DARIN HACHEM” has been featured in popular magazines including
Elle Arabia,
IO Donna,
HAYA Magazine, and
Vulkan, as well as it has dressed important Arab influencers such as
Layla Kardan, Nour Arida, and Lana El Sahely, just to name a few.
